Going to take another 10 years to get charging technology to support rapid charging. Not enough of those around. Even with the Tesla Superchargers, they're now deemed slow charging in today standards. Although, there's a ton of these chargers out. Going to be awhile until Tesla upgrades existing stations. Not to mention, Electrify America also needs to be upgrade....Will take atleast 10 more years in my opinion before things will ramp up some more.

These cars are a disaster. Yes, they are fun to drive and look great. I agree. The battery capability just isn't there yet. On the new Model Y, you're lucky if you get 240 miles out of it which is terrible. I'm constantly worried about charging because I drive a lot of miles every day. Im sick and tired of having to stop every so often to charge it. It's NOT CHEAP to charge outside. My Kia Niro gets 52-54 mpg and its a hybrid. The Tesla is a nightmare. The battery life is a big problem coupled with the fact that the battery degrades with time.. Hows that for a 50k mistake.

The one big factor was overlooked: To fill the tank in the Camry, you need less than 10 minutes. To CHARGE the Tesla: closer to an hour. If your time is worth $60 per hour the the $50 differnce in "charging" shows the Camry a better buy!

The five-year depreciation on a Toyota Camry is 31.8%. For a Tesla Model 3, it is 46.7 %. The Camry sticker cost was $35,825 so the five-year depreciation cost is $11,392. The Tesla sticker price is $55,000 so the depreciation cost is $25,614.

Leaving aside the other costs that have not been totaled. the upfront cost really ought to include the various subsidies that taxpayers somewhere provide. Yes, the government sends you a $7500 check. But someone pays for that.

We're at 75,000 miles on our 2022 model 3 rwd LFP. It's been amazing. Just got back from a 3,000 mile road trip, averaged 70 miles / hour including charging stops. Removed the rear seat bottom cushion and we slept in the car at KOA on the way down. Perfect experience. Total cost for 3,000 miles was $235

If more people adopt electric cars the cost of electricity will certainly go up. Also look at the capacity of the grid. There is not nearly enough juice available to support everyone driving an EV. How will the extra juice be generated? Most likely by burning fossil fuels....

Let’s say you sold at 5 years later, which lost money the most? Depreciation is over $25k or more for Tesla. The insurance is $1000 more annually for Tesla, and tires is $1500 set every 25k miles. Worst of all, if the accident is a total lost within 1-5 years, insurance pay a small market value, a deep depreciation and left you a small down payment for next replacement.

EV's are great in California, but when the temperature drops to well below freezing and you have some distance to travel...not so good.

I have a 2022 Tesla model 3, bought it 4/24 at 29k miles. When I would charge to 80% I would get about 227 miles, now I’m getting 222 miles and sitting at about 3 40k miles. Why is my battery degrading so fast? Or is this normal? I plug and unplug my car 3-4 times a day during the week at work (only supposed to charge for a certain amount of hours than we have to move our car and let the next person charge) and I use the super charger once a week. Is this degrading my battery?

you never factored in the replacement cost of a new battery for your tesla to get you to 10 years of usage.

As a Canadian trying to find out all i can about electric vehicles, I have noticed one thing over and over. To make owning an electric vehicle work for you, you need to be much more organized and prepared than you would with an ICE product. You need to remember to plug it in as soon as you get home, or set the timer to charge during off hours, so that you are never caught with less than a full charge.You need to remember to unplug it before you drive away and do major damage. If you are the kind of person who cannot remember to keep their cellphone plugged in and charging, you might have problems with an electric vehicle. Just saying, eh? 🇨🇦

EV's have HIGH depreciation and my friends Model 3 has extensive and expensive repair costs. Poor quality
